This page contains basic information on how to create a character sheet for our game (requirements, formatting, etc.)

Everything on this page applies to all PC's in all Genres, regardless of what type of character you are making.

Anything specific to only one genre is on the individual Genres Rules Page. Be sure to read both before submitting a sheet.

Character sheets are mandatory.

CREATING A CHARACTER FOR OUR GAME

[A] FORMAT FOR CHARACTER SHEETS:

[1] FORMAT: Currently we accept the following formats for character sheets: *.DOC *.XLT, or *.WOD (these are available on our downloads page.) Please do not send us PDFs, JPGs, WordPerfect Files, or anything like that. It will be returned. The onus is on you to get it converted. Wordpad runs Docs so few people have a reason not to use our format.

[2] FILE NAMES: PLEASE name the char sheet after your character’s actual name/nick, so we can find it later! Also please put your EMAIL on it somewhere in case we have questions.

Character sheets are here:  http://www.digitalgothic.net/Files/nWODdownloads.htm

[B] ALLOCATING YOUR DOTS:

[1] FREEBIES & PRIOR EXPERIENCE:  There are no Freebies in 2.0 / nWOD. All characters are starting characters and will not have experience in them. (There is one exception to this rule; players who successfully completed 1.0/OWOD/Time of Judgment were permitted to remake one PC of their choosing as a mortal and roll over their experience points into it as a reward for sportsmanship, and that was over in 2005)

[2] POINT EXPENDITURES SHOULD MAKE SENSE: Do not send us a "Mini-Maxed" character (one that has 4-5 dots in just a couple things, and almost nothing anywhere else.) Specialization doesn’t mean the character is devoid of other basic skills.

Also, do not send us a character that has a little bit of everything but the package makes no sense; some kind of random mish-mash of abilities that do not fit the concept. Dots will be checked against your background, to make sure the complete character concept makes sense.

[3] ALTERATIONS TO YOUR CHARACTER SHEET: Do not change the dots on your sheet once the final version has been approved, unless directed to do so by your ST, or you have their knowledge & consent. You will be held to using the stats on the sheet you last gave your ST.

When it comes time to buy dots with experience, make sure your ST approves what you buy, then make sure they get an updated copy of the sheet ASAP once you update it.
